Family Festival: 11:00AM to 4:00PM
In November of 1759, a license was issued to Richard Wells to operate an ordinary, or tavern, at what is now the crossroads community of Highland, Maryland.
On October 3, 2009, from 11:00AM to 4:00PM, the Greater Highland Crossroads Association will launch a year of anniversary observances with Highland Day. This annual fall festival features special displays and offerings from the merchants in the Heart of Highland, as well as additional vendors and artisans. There is entertainment, a variety of food and beverage, including a beer garden, and a focus on fun things for the family.
- The Shoppe of Horrors at the Highland Groomery
- A hayride down a country lane
- Pumpkin decorating at Living Dolls
- A Halloween costume parade
- Games and activities at the Kids’ Zone, including Moon Bounce and more

- A visit from the Howard County Fire Department
